Tuesday Zach, the girls and I didn't plan anything so we decided to sleep in and then take a taxi to Quinta Avenida (5th Avenue). We quickly learned that one of the common tricks of the the street peddlers was to say "Hey it's me Carlos, your waiter from Iberostar (our hotel) last night". Our hotel had us wear wrist band for the week so that we could get into the buffets, pool, get drinks, ice cream ect., well the peddlers were smart and would look and see which wrist band you were wearing and use that to try to get you to come into their shop;). We almost fell for it the first time and were like "oh sorry we didn't recognize you" and then the guy immediately felt bad and was like "oh, um buy local" and hurried off, so then Zach was like "that's a gimmick". Keagan LOVED 5th Avenue, she loved looking, the bargaining (well sometimes lol), all of the things to look at and buy. Zach was pretty excited to get a fresh coconut. Keagan and Zach did some haggling and got Keagan a beautiful dress. Heather and her crew met up with us for a quick minute and found some treasures in one shop. Keagan found a wooden toy top and a backpack, the woman in that shop was so patient, we were literally in her shop for 45-60 min with Keagan looking through every bag trying to pick the perfect one! Kabree found a baseball cap she liked. We shopped a little more before the girls and I decided we would bet the heat by getting some braids. The girls looks gorgeous....I will never attempt that again lol!!! Keagan struggled a bit during the process lol, there were lots of tears but every time we asked her if we should stop or try a different braid she was determined to finish what she started. After the braids we headed back to our hotel
We finished off our day at the pool with Heathers crew and then meeting the rest of the group for dinner.
