Experiments!

Kabree, Hanna and Justice
Shaving Cream and Cornstarch

While this idea looked great on pinterest it was a horrible mess with these three and I will never do it again! 45 minutes of entertainment gave me 35 minutes of clean up!  I have let Kabree play with shaving cream lots of times and had minimal mess, maybe it was because there was 3 kiddos to clean up after or because the cornstarch/shaving cream combo makes for one slicker than snot floor and I let them add food coloring which they spilled a bit.  Also lets add with 3 there was a bit of flinging which contributed to the clothes needing washed and the hair as well : ).  But the kids had fun and that was the whole purpose so it was worth it all the same.  The kiddos did like the idea of feeling the shaving cream and then how the texture changed after adding the cornstarch, plus they always love adding food coloring to anything to watch how the colors change and what colors mixed make new colors.  I just wish I would have taken a picture at the end to show just what I mean when I say 35 minute clean up time ; ).
Our eggs soaking in vinegar
 Our "naked" egg

Heather was creeped out by it : )
 Hanna throwing our "naked" egg
The end results, slimy, rubbery film with a regular old yolk inside

We decided this would be a good experiment to go with our letter E activities.  We soaked our eggs in vinegar for 24 hours, Justice and Kabree wanted to soak theirs longer while Hanna wanted to touch and play with her egg.  They were fascinated by the feel and look of the "naked" egg.  They were so curious if the inside was rubbery or still a yolk.  I suggested to Hanna to lightly drop the egg from two inches from the ground, then gradually increase the height i.e. start at 2 inches, increase to 4 inches.  Hanna started out with the 2 inch suggestion, to which the egg lightly bounced and the kids were amazed, then Hanna excitedly dropped the egg from 2 1/2 feet, to which the egg splattered!  The kids were again amazed at the feel of the egg yolk itself but also the outer rubbery shell that was left as well.  This experiment was next to no effort and super cool in this Mammy's eyes!  Very curious to see how the longer soaking eggs will hold up!

I just have to say how much I love that our kitchen floor is our craft, experiment, picnic, even baking area, we have so much fun and Kabree's favorite place in the house is probable the kitchen because of all the fun we have in there.  Don't worry I do clean the floor and we never eat off of it ; ).

Pink Toes and Piggies

We did our first set of piggies today!  Keagan has had enough hair for a long time it's just a matter of holding her down long enough to get them in : ).  As for the pink toes, well she moves so much getting a picture of them is next to impossible : ) and we will be honest her toes are rarely not pink cause this Mommy loves to paint those little toe piggies!

Cousin Sleep Over

 Justice, Kabree and Hanna
Eating Breakfast

For Matt's birthday Heather took him out on the night on the town so we were the lucky ducks who got Justice and Hanna to hang out with us.  They played with their new garage sale finds (vintage fisher price little people), ate pizza, went to a friends wedding reception where they made their own fruit pizzas (funnest refreshment idea yet), watched a movie and ate popcorn, then had a yummy breakfast and more playtime.  Kabree was so excited all leading up to the sleep over and was a little bit hyper the whole time because of her excitement.  The kids did great and had fun, we can't wait to do it again!

Keagan's 4 Months

 We LOVE our feet!

She likes to try to eat her toy Giraffe
Or have staring contests with it

 We still love our bumbo

Keagan is 4 months old and wow has time flown by fast!  She is cooing, smiling and her silly little cough laugh all the time.  She still has all of her thick dark hair and gets complements all the time and that and her beautiful dark hair.  She weighs in at 13 lbs 12oz and is starting to like toys, well grabbing them and shoving them in her mouth : ).  She still likes her fingers and has recently discovered she has toes too.  Grandma JoAnn got Keagan a little baby gym and Keagan loves it, she gets all excited and kicks her little feet a hundred miles and hour.  She loves kicking at it and just staring at it.  Keagan rolled over for the first time last Wednesday and now rolls all over when she is playing with her little gym.  As far as sleeping at night....well that's a thing her Mommy and Daddy dream about, hopefully this next month that will improve.  This month Keagan's nicknames have been a topic of discussion lol, we call her Keagers all the time but my Dad informed us that it should be KeKe and has set out on a mission to get everyone on board, he has even turned Kabree over 50% of the time she calls her KeKe and the rest it's Keagers.  We love Keagan so much and the past 4 months have went way to fast and she has gotten way to big but we already cannot remember life before her.  We love you Keagers!

Kabree 3yrs 4 months

This is the famous Kabree look that can make anyone feel like an idiot

Kabree wanted to know why Keagan gets her picture taken every month and not her so this month we included Kabree : ).  Kabree is getting so big and it is so crazy to have my baby girl be a big girl now.  Kabree loves her little sister and helps with her all the time by running and getting diapers or finding the binkie.  Kabree loves to dance and sing and still loves to wear dresses or skirts everyday.  She gets very upset the days I try to get her to wear pants or shorts.  The only time she will wear pants is if we are playing in the dirt, 4-wheeling or riding horses.  Kabree loves to do crafts and loves to help in anyway she can, she loves to help cook, clean anything you will let her do.  She is a great helper, she is an excellent wash wrap folder and stirrer.  I cannot believe that Kabree is already so big, Kabree completely changed our lives for the better and makes us laugh everyday.  She is so full of personality and is so smart, we love you Kabs!

Making Ice Cream

 Carefully measuring the ingredients

Reading a story while the ice cream is turning
 The yummy coconut ice cream

Kabree LOVES ice cream but due to her allergy to dairy : ( we have to find fun alternatives, Grandma Sally found a recipe for ice cream made from coconut milk.  We thought that would make a fun Grandma and Kabree activity.  Kabree loves to cook and loves ice cream so it was a perfect fit for her.  She had lots of fun and the ice cream got her approval too!
