Valentine's Day

Getting Ready for Valentine's Day
1st we decorated sugar cookie hearts.  I let the kids pick the color of frosting I made and of coarse Justice asked for orange and that is the only color he would frost with : ).  The little ones only frosted 2 each but Hanna was a trooper and frosted away with me.  J.T.'s birthday is on Valentine's day so he asked me to make him some special cookies for his 16th birthday, so I made him bikini cookies to take to school.

After making cookies the kiddos made some cards.  Kabree decided she wanted super hero valentine's to hand out at her party so we made those later in the week.

Valentine's Day Party With Grandma Jane
Kabree got invited to a Valentine's Day party at Grandma Jane's.  Ok Jane is Jared's Mom, so she is Justice and Hanna's Grandma but Kabree would get sad every time she saw her and wanted to call her Grandma Jane too.  So Jane said we can adopt her as our Grandma too : ).  From the moment Kabree opened the invitation she was excited and would ask everyday "is today my party".  We did heart bingo, pin the heart on the octopus, ate yummy treats, colored heart cards, handed out our valentine's and watched Mini's Valentine's Day.  Kabree had a lot of fun and loved every minute of the party, she cried when it was time to go home.

Larin The Cowboy

Kabree, Larin and JoAnn
 Larin hopping up the stairs
Kabree running before Larin can catch her

Kabree loves to pretend pretty much anything is a horse so when she found one of our old stick horses she was pretty excited.  But when uncle Larin decided to ride the old Hoppity horse and play with her...she was over the moon excited.  She thought it was pretty funny to watch Larin hopping along trying to rope her...however when he caught her she did NOT think that was funny.  Larin roped Jessica once and Wyatt wasn't to sure about that either.  Needless to say Larin had us all laughing our heads off with his show.

Catch Up

A couple weeks ago we went out to Arbon but we forgot our camera so we had to borrow Shawn's, well we just barely got a hold of his camera to steal our pics off so here is our catch up.

Fun In The Snow

Kabree thought it was funny to talk through the patio window

Kabree has been so excited for snow that when there finally was enough we had to play in it.  Mattie was great to to help Kabree sled down the hill and help her walk back up.  Kabree loved it and was in heaven!  She wanted to be big like Morgan and had Mattie help her snowboard down...I think we have a little growing to do before we become a pro at that one ;)

Pinewood Derby

Shawn getting the cars ready

We got to go and watch the Arbon pinewood derby.  They decided to let the young women and young men make cars too just for fun.  It was pretty fun to watch everyone get excited and Kabree loved watching them.  She kept asking 'when do I get to do my car', she didn't have one but she sure thought it was neat to watch her big cousins set them up on the track.  We are glad we were able to watch it and everyone had great cars and did such a good job on them!

Band Concert

Chase

Libby

We got to go and watch Chase and Libby perform at their junior high band concert.  Kabree was just excited to spend more time with cousins.  I was very impressed with how well they did, they played some really fun songs and did a great job at it.  They even had a little star wars scene in the end to go along with their movie inspired piece.

Kabree's New Toy!

 Kabree trying it out

Kabree getting a horsy ride from Grandpa Rowlands
Pat, Kabree and Stephan

We are so very fortunate to have a very open adoption with Kabree's birth-family.  Keri's grandparents Pat and Stephan came over to visit us Saturday and brought Kabree a VERY fun toy.  Keri's brother Colton had out grown his 4-wheeler and they thought that Kabree might like it so they called and asked if they could give it to her.  I thought it was so sweet of all of them to think of us and they were right, she LOVED it.  She was all smiles and wanted to keep riding it up and down the sidewalk.  It was so nice to have them come visit and get to know each other better and Kabree loved showing them her room, all of her toys and telling them LOTS of stories!  She thought it was pretty funny to ride on Grandpa Rowlands leg and she loved telling and showing pretty much everything to Grandma Rowlands.  We are so grateful that Kabree comes from such an amazing family and cannot wait to try this new 4-wheeler out in Arbon!

More Adventures With 2 Year Olds

 Peanut butter play dough

This week we made colored rice, which much to my delight the kids loved and have asked to play with it everyday since.  I gave them each paint brushes and a plate of glue, they thought that was pretty fun but LOVED when it came time pouring the rice onto the glue.  Ok, funny story, Justice would only use the orange rice the first day, I tried and tried to talk him into adding or playing with another color but he would just reply "no, I'm good Jessi, orange".  When I asked him what his picture was of he replied "orange".  Silly boy.
They liked using our rice in art projects but they LOVED mixing it and pretending it's jewels or Hanna's favorite the ingredients for enchiladas.  They played with it for hours each day, Kabree and Justice loved pouring it on the flour and "swimming" in it, silly kiddos.  We also made peanut butter play dough this week, which the kids about made them selves sick by eating so much of it.  FYI, we do get dressed for the day one of the days was our pajama party day : ).  Needless to say it was another messy couple days but we loved every minute of it.
