Spring Break

Spring Break was a bit different this year with the whole self isolation thing so we didn't get to do some of our usual Spring Break activities but the girls were great sports about it anyways!  Grandma JoAnn taught them to knit hats, which they both loved and quickly made one for themselves and their dolls and they are both on their 3rd.  We did some painting, some baking, lots of reading and some vegging (we watched a movie every night).  Zach did get the tramp up and the girls were able to play with Wyatt and Morgan outside a bit, throwing the football around.  Life is different, stressful and full of a lot of unknowns right now but we sure are glad we live on a farm with lots of room to run around and cousins who can play (6 feet apart ;) outside with us!

New Look On LIfe

Mrs. Stewart (one of the teacher aids at school) let me know she noticed Keagan might be having a hard time seeing.  I totally dismissed it and figured Keagan was faking it because then she kept saying i can't see anything but then would get a smile on her face and say "What, I can't".  Well I decided to make her an appointment and with in a week of scheduling the school did a screening and sure enough Keagan needed further assessment.  Thanks to a friend being the secretary at the eye doctor she got us in 2 weeks sooner.  Well turns out Mrs. Stewart was on the ball because Keagan is severely near sighted and pretty much anything 10 feet in front of her was a blur!  Because of the Covid-19 virus Costco isn't doing the glasses part so we quickly called other vision centers around Pocatello to find anyone that still do glasses.  We found one but they said they closed in 15 min.  We hurried over and they were amazing, they quickly helped Keagan find a pair she liked and got it all put in and ordered just in the nick of time because the day after we were able to pick them up the Governor of Idaho called all non essential businesses be shut down.

Homeschool

Life has sure turned upside down in the last week!  Due to the COVID-19 outbreak coming into the US and now hitting Idaho last week, life has gotten a little crazy!  People are panicking and rushing to stores to buy supplies; for some reason toilet paper is the one people seem the most concerned about ;).
Most schools have decided to shut down for 3 weeks and they are asking for people to self quarantine as to stop the spread of the virus.  We are so fortunate to have our girls in Arbon Elm school where they have not only chosen on the error of caution and closed school but have also set up for our kids to do homeschool.  Both teachers are available through text, call, email or facetime during regular school hours and it has worked great!  Granted we are only on day 2 ;) but we are feeling optimistic!

Bling

Keagan was SUPER excited to get her ears pierced!  She was a great sport, no tears just big eyes and a big smile!

I Feel My Saviors Love

With all of the craziness surrounding our world right now it felt like such a tremendous blessing to hold sacrament meeting in our home.  The girls were very excited about the newness and uniqueness of the situation and prepared the entire program as well as the bulletins. I'm grateful for the priesthood and for the sacrament.  I'm grateful for my Savior, for President Nelson and his divine inspiration to create a home centered, church supported program.  But above all I'm grateful for my little family, the joy I get from them and the comfort I feel when I'm with just them.

Ward Family Cookbook

To say the cookbook has been a labor of "love" might not be the right words, but it was a great thing to focus and work on during the looooong Arbon winter this year.

Musher Field Trip

The Big Room does a lot with the Iditarod and Mrs. Curry got a local Musher (Sue) to meet us up Mink Creek and show the kids her dogs and equipment.  It was such a fun field trip and the girls LOVED it!

New Wheels

Apparently 2020 is the year of cars for the Tarbets.  With the Blazers break down we decided it was probably time to get Zach a new (to us) commuter car.  Zach's happy he is back to having a white car and we are both excited to start getting 35 mpg!

Piggie Bank Fun

Keagan participated in the Piggie Bank contest again this year and decided to make a milk jug owl.  She did such a good job and was very excited to get her goodie bag for participating!

20/20 in 2020

Zach took the plunge and decided to get LASIK. Surgery went well, they did have to reopen and relay the right eye flap down, but at his next day check up they said everything was looking great!

Future Betty Crockers

The girls had a cake decorating class for Activity Days and LOVED it!  They both loved it and can't wait to practice some more!

Here We Are Again

Well it's been a year for our cars!  Zach broke down on the way to work and luckily Shawn yet again was able to come with his car hauler and bring our vehicle home.  Luckily this one was just a fuel pump and Zach (with the help of Eric) was able to fix it the next night.
