Dancing In The Rain

Of coarse we had to practice our cheer jumps

Here is what 5 houses down our street looked like after the storm
notice the sidewalk is under water

So in the last 2 weeks we have had flood warnings at least 6 different days for our area.  Funny enough every time we have had these warnings, though the rest of our street and our town get flooded pretty bad our house and neighbors have all drained well and never got the bulk of the storm.  However, today we didn't receive a flood warning and sure enough it poured at our house and for the first time this summer our sidewalk and flowerbeds backed up.  If you look close in the pictures you can see our sidewalk was like a mini river and our flowerbed filled all the way up.
Every single time it has poured like this Kabree has asked to go play in it and we usually say no but today we decided to let her have at it.  She would run, jump and twirl in all the puddles.  It was pretty cute and pictures could never do the crazy amount of rain or cuteness justice.  Our neighbors across the street even sat on their stairs and watched her dancing in the rain :)!

Island Park

Feeding the fish at Big Springs

Kabree took her bread throwing seriously
We loved watching the Mommy duck with her babies!

Keagan decided she would rather eat the bread then feed it to the fish
Ready to float the river

I spent the week at girls camp in Island Park so Zach and the girls picked me up late Thursday night so we could have a quick family trip.  We stayed at Zach's uncle Brian's place in Island Park in Grandpa Gary's old camper.  The girls thought it was great to wake up there and eat breakfast.  We started off our day at Big Springs feeding the fish and watching the ducks.  Grandma Sally even joined  us there.  Then we headed off to float the river.  The girls were so excited, Grandma Sally helped us drop our suburban off at the end of the ride and she dropped us off at the boat launch.  We were on our way with only a few kinks.  About 200 yards down river we got stuck in sand so Zach and I got out to push the raft to deeper water, Zach decided to fill up the boat with a bit more air.  I decided I would rather sit up front so Zach got in the back and I decided it would be funny for me to jump in the front, even though Zach said "don't jump in".  Well I jumped and sure enough I  landed and sunk clear to the ground!  I popped the seal on the raft and the entire bottom of the raft went out!  I thought it was hilarious but both girls were screaming, thinking they were drowning and all of our stuff was floating down river!  Zach ran after it all and luckily was able to catch everything, while I still laughing grabbed what was left of our raft and the screaming Kabree and started headed back up river.  It wasn't the funnest walking back up stream but once we made it, and called Grandma Sally to come get us the girls and I played in the water.  The girls thought it was pretty fun regardless of what had happened.
After Grandma Sally picked us up we ordered some pizza and headed back to the camper for a nap.  The girls had fun playing in the camper but were even more excited to take a ride in Uncle Brians' four-wheeler.  However, after we got about 2 minutes down the trail it started thunder and lighting and then of coarse pouring : ).  So we decided maybe we should call it a day and head to Aunt Sandra's for the night : ).
The girls loved playing with Adam and Grover and Mommy enjoyed the nice hot shower and soft bed : ).  But the icing on the cake was that Saturday morning Aunt Sandra treated us to pancakes; Kabree's favorite.
Even though nothing quit turned out how we had planned we still had fun and are glad we got to spend the weekend together and with family.
