What We've Been Up To!

Eric and Zach headed out for their hunting trip

First I have to tell everyone about Zach and Erics hunting trip. Zach hit an Elk but they could never find it. They figure he shot it in the shoulder so the arrow hit a bone and didn't penetrate. He said he still had fun but he was really disappointed.

J.T.

While Zach was gone I went to J.T.'s soccer game. They are doing really good this year, they won the game I went too but lost their first game the next day (Saturday) : ( . Then I had Libby and Chase come over. I don't like being home alone so Matt and Heather let their kids come stay with me. Libby, Chase and I just played games and watched Zoolander (my favorite movie).

Best friends or worst enemies?

*ADOPTION UPDATE*
We found out we were approved for adoption on Tuesday and our profile went up on the LDS Adoption Website Friday. I went in and changed something and so now it doesn't come up today so Monday I'll have to see what I did. So Monday or Tuesday people can go to the website and go to search adoption profiles and type in zachandjessi and we'll pop up! Now we just have to keep updating our web profile and take a class every Wednesday for 5 weeks and we are good to go all the way : ). So spread the word everybody!

Larin and Haylee

Tuesday Larin had to go round up cows so he asked Zach to go help him. Heather, Zach, Mom and Haylee (my cousin whos Dad owns the farm with my Dad and brothers) all went with him. There is no pictures of Mom because she took all the pictures : ( . They all came home pretty sore and they couldn't find a few of the cows. But they all said they enjoyed it and it was a good day.

I got to stay home with Larins two youngest; Mattie and Morgan, and Heather brought Hanna out. For those of you who don't know Mattie and Hanna are very best friends! Mattie gets very upset if Heather doesn't bring Hanna out when ever possible : ). One cute thing that Mattie did was at lunch time I helped her say the blessing and after I said Amen Mattie looked at me with a silly grin and said "You forgot to bless Jessica, we always bless Jessica." I thought it was so cute and I couldn't wait to tease Larin when he got home.

Adoption Update

Adoption Collage

So one of the many things that we need to do for adoption is a collage that shows what we're all about. It sounds easy but try to fit as many pictures as you can that show people what you like and are all about on to just two pieces of paper. It was really hard for me to decide what pictures tell about Zach and I, but this is what I came up with. Our case workers show us to a committee on Monday so hopefully we'll be on the LDS Adoption web site soon!! We are still waiting for our background checks to come back.

Zach and Eric left this afternoon to go Elk (bow) hunting with Zachs Dad and brother Caleb. So cross your fingers Zach comes back with something and hopefully he'll bring back some pictures for me to share too.

The car Eric took us for a ride in

Every year; around August or September, all the girls in my immediate family have a girls party. It's like a big slumber party. We paint nails, watch movies, have lots of junk food and just enjoy each others company. This year we got Chinese (one of my favorites) take out and watched "She's The Man." We have all of the younger girls sleep on the floor and all of us adults share the beds, so basically we don't sleep at all. We didn't even finish the movie until 2 a.m. and then you know how girls are : ). Wendy and I shared a bed and the last time we looked at a clock it was 3:30. Then of coarse at 7 a.m. Mattie was wide awake and ready for more fun. So we ate our breakfast (Wendy's yummy breakfast casserole) and got ready for the day. Libby had a soccer game so Heather, Hanna and Libby had to leave early. Grandma had a funeral so she had to leave early too. So Whitney and I painted the younger girls nails and gave them facials.

I forgot to let everyone know who the new faces are, Jessica and her daughter Makenna. Jessica and my brother Larin are dating. Which is why Larin crashed our GIRLS party. Yes he crashed it, because Larin and Jessica live 2 1/2 hours apart they don't get to see each other very often so Larin figured were she was only 1 hour away he had to make good use of it, even if it meant dirty looks from his sister. He hung out with us for a couple hours Friday and then came over Saturday morning for breakfast. Jessica and him had made plans to go to the temple and I offered for their three girls to stay with me. It was great getting to know Makenna better, she loves horses, likes to wear pretty skirts and likes to sing along with movies.

Back to the topic of party crashers, we had another crasher Eric (my nephew). He recently got a new Trans Am and his sister Holli (who lives in Logan) hadn't seen it yet so he stopped by to give her a ride. So of coarse, Heather, Whitney and I had to go for a ride too. It is an awesome car!

Holli's Story

One funny story I have to share that happened at the girl party was before everyone got here Holli, Libby and I were the first ones there so we were sitting around talking. Holli started talking about when she was 1 and a ferret bit her while she was just sitting on her parents lawn. It drew blood and took a chunk of skin, so it was a pretty big deal. So, I asked her what her Dad did and she didn't want to tell me. She looked at Libby then at me and said I don't want to say. So I reassured her it was okay to say what he did. Then Holli told us her Dad shot it and instantly Libby's face turned to horror. (First I must add Libby is the most tender hearted child on earth, second I have to remind you that I reassured Holli that it was okay to tell us.) Holli started trying to comfort Libby, trying to hug her and saying "what if it would have bit Hanna, what would you do" and Libby's reply was "I wouldn't have SHOT IT!" and she kept crying shrugging away from Holli like she was this horrible person. The more we tried to justify what Holli's Dad did the more upset Libby got, we even told her a ferret was like a rat and she informed us that they sell them at McKees for pets. Libby said if an animal bit Hanna (her little sister by the way) she would just yell at it. Poor Holli felt awful for upsetting Libby and I couldn't stop laughing.

Okay you guys might think its odd for me to post random pictures of calves and horses but I promised my nephew Kooper I would. For those of you who don't know Kopper, he is one of the cutest little cowboys ever. He loves to go check and feed the cows and horses with his dad (my brother Larin). He names all the calves and remembers which calf goes to which cow. Sometimes I think he might even keep track better then Larin : ). Anyways here are a few of his favorites.

Cool Pictures

Seeing the world through Cayleb's eyes

Libby as a beautiful Ballerina

I've been going through my pictures and here are a couple that I thought were cool. The one is of Cayleb's eye and if you look close you can see what he's looking at in his eye (the camp site), if you enlarge it you can see it better. The other one is one of Libby from one of her dance recitals and she just looked so pretty I had to share it.

Heather and Hanna tubing, she really did like it just not in this picture!!

Since Libby got hurt on our Twin Lakes trip and couldn't get in the water, Zach decided to borrow his parents boat and take Heather (my sister) and her kids out to American Falls for the day. Even Hanna wanted to go tubing. J.T. and Chase weren't really sure what they thought when Zach would speed up, but when he kept it slow they loved it. Libby of course (as always) loved it. I even decided to give wake boarding another try but I think as always my lack of coordination lead me to stick to tubing. Overall I would say it was a pretty good day.
