Mexico Day 3

Monday everyone went to Xcaret.  They day got off to a bit of a rocky start but it quickly got turned around once we got to the park. Our group of 12 plus another family of 4 all followed the directions of the website plus our e-mail confirmation.  We also confirmed with our hotel concierge where we were to wait for our shuttle bus.  However, we missed our shuttle bus because apparently the hotel lobby we waited at had been shut down due to covid (the entire hotel had been shut down).  Anyways, we ended up having to pay for a taxi to get to the park, an hour late.

But even with all of that it was still amazing and so worth all of it!!  There was so much to see we didn't even see half of it I'm sure.  Matt, Heather and their kids did swimming with the sharks and a Sea Trek adventure so we didn't see much of them at the park.  The rest of us decided to see the animal exhibits first.

Random Animals
The iguanas were everywhere...I did NOT like them!

The black jaguar

The Bird Exhibit
Poor Kiki cried through the whole exhibit...and it was huge...seriously huge!  She is so scared of birds!  There was several different rooms and sections.

Sea Turtles

Lunch Buffet
Our lunch buffet was in a huge cenote.  It was beautiful and the food was great as always.

Poor Kiki was wore out from the heat!
Butterflies

Floating the Riviera Maya
It felt so good to jump into the water after walking around in the heat!  It was a little crazy to be floating a river in just a lifejacket but it was one of my favorite things we did!

Darrel and I (we were both slower swimmers) got out of the river a few yards before everyone else
and walked up to this view

The Night Show
The show was amazing.  The music and costumes were beautiful. The show was about how Mexico came to be and the culture.  It was so interesting to watch some of their early games and traditions.

How you can tell Zach has three girls in his life ;)
