Keagan's First Hair Cut

After 3 years we decided it was probably time for Keagan to have a trim.  Keagan HATES having her hair washed, combed or blow dried so we prepared ourselves for the worst.  We were pleasantly surprised she was smiles the entire time, she LOVED having Ashlie do her hair!!!  She told Ashlie she wanted  "apunzel hair" (Rapunzel) so that's what she got ; ).  She was very proud of her cut and wanted lots of pictures taken after and even asked to facetime Grandpa Vance and Grandma JoAnn to show them her hair cut.
Keagan loved having her hair washed!!!

Keagan hates her hair blow dried but it was Ok for Ashlie to do it

Keagan was so excited to show of her new locks
Thank you Ashlie!!!

Visiting the Cemeteries

Memorial weekend though our hearts and minds were thinking of those that have passed on we physically didn't go visit the cemeteries.  Heather and I decided we would take the teenagers to go put flowers on the graves.  Even though they are always in our hearts it's always nice to pay respects to those we love that have passed on.  I feel so grateful to know that my family is FOREVER and I will see them all again someday!!!
As per Kevin's request if he ever died
we played "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen and left him a Dew

 Shawnta
 Jared
We should have brought a 64oz Dew for him ; )

 Lyndell
 Grandma and Grandpa
 Laurel
So after the first few pictures we noticed ticks on our legs; glad we thought to wear light colored jeans, and were freaked out to walk into the weeds/brush so Heather decided to throw her roses.  FYI she isn't such a bad aim either ; )
Glad I got to spend a morning sharing a few of our favorite memories of our family

After the cemetery we went back to Grandpa and Grandma's to enjoy some fruit and yogurt parfaits and sweet breads.  Matt and Zach brought the little kiddos out so we could visit with Grandpa for a bit.  It was great to have a quick visit with him but we didn't stay long because he is still in a lot of pain.

Memorial Weekend

Saturday
We had quite a Memorial weekend this year!  Saturday we woke up early and headed off to McKee's to buy some flowers.  It was raining; of coarse as always as of late, so we searched and picked our flowers while carrying our umbrellas!  Of coarse Keagan picked lots of pinks and Kabree picked some of every color.  Since we were already in the rain we decided to hit the petting zoo too.  I think it's safe to say it is not safe for the girls and me to go to pet stores!  We had to look at, talk to and pet every animal we could.  We decided we want goats, bunnies, chickens, pigs, and a tortoise!
Our grass seed made it this round of rain

After McKee's we decided to head over to the local bike shop to take a look.  At first we were disappointed which salesman we got but quickly were put in our place when we realized how awesome he was!  He listened to everything I said I wanted and would be doing and he grabbed me a bike and took us out in the parking lot.  It had stopped raining so I test "drove" the bike and thought it was great but he ran inside and came back out with a different one and i tried it and LOVED it.  He said he could tell the other was just slightly the wrong size.  So while he was getting my bike ready and set up for me to take home he tells me to grab a water bottle, well both girls ran over and grabbed water bottles, he just smiled and said "you can all have one".  They pretty much thought that was the best thing to ever happen.  So next up was Zach to pick a bike.  While he was checking out bikes I was trying to pick which color I wanted mine; anyone who knows me knows just how long that took me ; ).  Anyways, back over to Zach he finds two bikes he wants to try out and right as he rolls the bike to the doors to head outside it starts pouring buckets!!!!  We all started laughing, seriously it poured!!!  So Zach tested his bike out in the store!  As we are checking out I look at Zach and ask him which bike he picked he smiled and said "the white one;" anyone who knows Zach is laughing, he asks me and I start laughing "white".  So in the end we basically got matching bikes hahaha!

After taking our bikes home we decided we had to test them out immediately!  There had been an hour break and it looked like we maybe had 1/2 hour to 1 hr left of it so we hurried got the girls all loaded up and sure enough it started pouring buckets again!  We stood in the car port for 15 minutest before admitting defeat and decided that pouring rain was the perfect time to plant the flowers ;).

These girls were so excited and ready to go!!!!

We got our flowers planted

Another fun thing on Saturday is our caterpillars came in the mail!!!!  We are so excited!!!!

Sunday
Grandpa Vance had back surgery so we decided this was the perfect weekend to go pay him a visit  in the hospital.  As soon as we got out of church we loaded up, dropped our fur baby off at our awesome friends and headed for Boise.  WOW, that drive sucks and that's all we will say about that!!!  We got to Boise and were able to visit Grandpa for only about a hour before we needed to let him get to bed.  The girls were so excited to hang out with him in his hospital room!  Grandpa Vance was pretty tired but doing pretty good considering he had just had major surgery!

Once we hit the hotel even though it was insanely late we took the kiddos down to the pool for a hour.  Grandma JoAnn joined us and the girls were in heaven.  We brought their floaties so they were like little fish all over the pool

Monday
We woke up ate breakfast and hurried over to visit Grandpa,  Grandpa Vance was sitting up in a chair eating breakfast when we got there and that made the girls so excited.  The first day the Keagan was a bit distraught that Grandpa was "not his home" and "no bed, chair Grandpa", it bothered her he was in bed and not in the chair.

Kabree watching T.V. with Grandpa

Boise Zoo
After our morning visit we headed off to the Boise Zoo.  Of coarse Grandma JoAnn came with us to the zoo!  The girls were pretty excited!  Even better unlike at home it wasn't raining!!!

These three girls were excited for the zoo!!!

We all got excited when we saw some pretty heads peaking over the fence!

This beautiful boy wanted the leaves on the other side of the the fence sooooo bad!!!

The girls loved that these "cats" were cleaning each other

Kabree was so excited to sit on this elephant,
she patiently waited for 5 minutes for a group of kids to be done playing on it!
Kabree loved peaking in the Prairie Dog exhibit
Seeing this guy made us want one even more
"Look it's Mrs. Kipling"
We found an even cuter tortoise

After the Zoo we headed back over to the hospital to tell Grandpa all about it!  They explained everything in detail!!!  Grandpa was in a lot of pain by this point so we kept our last visit on the shorter side.  We are so glad we were able to go see visit Grandpa and hope he has a speedy recovery!
The best way to end our weekend, pull out the hide-a-bed and watch a movie!

F.Y.I. as we got back into town there was a huge down pour, needless to say as we pulled into our drive way to our dismay we saw that all of our grass seed that we had planted Thursday had washed away down the sidewalk.  This is the second time this has happened so we have decided the 3rd time will probably not be the charm and we are planting sod!
