Family Baby Shower

Heather and Wendy threw me a family baby shower this weekend. It was a lot of fun seeing family and all of our family friends. Jane made the cutest little cake and it was so yummy to eat. There was a great turn out and I got lots of cute stuff that I can't wait to use. I am so lucky to have such great friends and family that have been such a great support and have helped us so much with Kabree. So thank you Heather and Wendy for the great shower.

Great Grandpa Elmer & Kabree

Before I went to the shower I ran over to my Grandpa Elmer's to show him Kabree. My Grandpa loves babies and it was cute to watch him with her.

Updates

Since we didn't have long to prepare for our little Kabree we have had to put her stuff together the last couple days. Her uncle Caleb put her swing together while he was here and she loves it, she just looks around when we put her in it. Zach got her curtains up yesterday and they are super cute. The one picture is Kabree with her bunny on the blanket I made her. We gave our birthparents a bunny and blanket just like it so they can see how much she grows each week. Our birthparents went to court today and officially terminated their rights. Which is great for us but really hard on them. We did talk to the birthmom and she seems to be doing pretty good considering. She is still sore from the c-section but for the most part doing good. We just love our little girl so much and have our birthparents to thank for her.

Friend Baby Shower

My friend Adrianne did a baby shower for me on Friday. She has been trying to plan it ever since I told her we got picked. Wouldn't it figure when I finally let her do it Kabree was born that week. Luckily for me we didn't get Kabree until Saturday so I was able to go to the shower. Ad did a great job with the food and decorations, I loved it. I had a lot of fun and got lots of great stuff! I only took a couple of pictures after it was all over, so I didn't get many. Ad made a sign that had Kabree's name on it and had it on her porch bench with brown and pink balloons, it was so cute! Thanks to all of you who were able to come, for all of you who helped Adrianne and of coarse thank you Ad for the great shower, I loved it!

Welcome Home Kabree!!

We brought Kabree home from the hospital Saturday night. When we arrived our families had a little welcome party waiting outside. It was so much fun to have our families share in our special day with us. I have tons of pictures but these were my favorites.

Our Little Girl!

Since no one can come to the hospital, we will be posting like crazy the next couple days for our families to see our little one! I don't think the pictures even show how tiny she is, you can kind of tell by looking at the ones that have Zach's hand in them.

Kabree Lee

I'm not obsessed with blogging but my parents live out in the country and don't have cell service so this is the only way they get to see pictures. Kabree weighed 6 lbs 8 oz, was 19 inches long. We are so excited and love her so much already. I want to give a shout out to our good friends Jason and Lacy who let us steal their camera last night so that we could even have pictures to share with everyone. We got the call when we were having dinner at their house last night. So, thanks guys! I'm sure there will be much more to share later but for now here is our little girl!

Family Pictures

My cute Dad and Mom

Gina was the only one who got it at first

Now most of them get it : )

My friend Adrianne took my families pictures a couple of weekends ago. She does such a good job and my family has never gotten them done before so it was defiantly time for it. I think they turned out great! Adrianne helped me tell my family that we got picked during pictures, she told everyone to gather in this one area, which they were all complaining and being butts about, then they all got mad because Zach and I weren't in it (for those of you who know my family this is no surprise). It was so funny because we stood next to Ad and held up the sign, it took some of them a while to figure out what was going on. It was a lot of fun to see their reactions and have the picture to show it. I had yelled at Eric several times earlier that day for not looking at the camera and smiling, so if you look he is totally smiling at the camera and not even looking at the sign. He was so confused when everyone started screaming and cheering, he started looking around all confused and then he finally read the sign and got it. Thanks Ad for all the help and putting up with my crazy family : )!

So Much To Do So Little Time!!

Heather helping Shay

Katie working on her hat

Kooper's hat

The girls hats and flip flops

This title is fitting on so many different levels right now. First off, Larin and Jessica had some errands to run in town this week so they dropped off Katie, Shaylynn and Kooper for only about 3 hours. Now 3 hours might not sound like much time to most but with these kids the possibilities are limitless. We decorated flip flops and hats and painted the girls nails. We then made dutch babies and still had time to watch a movie. I love it when my nieces and nephews come to visit even if it's only for a couple of hours.

Now I'm sure it's obvious the other level this title works for. Wow, getting a baby in a couple weeks is so exciting but pretty dang stressful. Unlike most people we haven't had 9 months to plan on this little one. We do have a dresser, crib, swing and a car seat now so we can at least bring her home. Slowly but surely we are reorganizing the house to make room for our new addition. Still no due date, I'm going crazy with anticipation of when she will get here. Our poor birthmom is ready to have her as well, so hopefully we will be able to share a due date soon. We will keep you posted, until then I apologize for the crazy airheadedness, I promise my brain will come back some day : )!!

We're Thinking Pink!

Most everyone already knows but for those who don't we got picked last week and it's a girl! It has been an emotional, crazy week but the excitement far out weighs the stress. We actually got to meet both our birthparents today and it went great. They are a cute cute couple who we already love so much. They were so amazing and unselfish, I could never express how grateful I am for them and their sacrifice. I was scared beyond belief for the face to face, but it went great and now I feel so much better about everything. Now I actually feel like this is our little girl! For those who know me already know what a long emotional journey this has been for me and words could never say how excited and how long I have waited for this day. No one laugh but I can seriously close my eyes and see her in my arms already. We are so happy and cannot wait to hold our little girl. Which we still have no due date for yet, she is having a c-section and they haven't scheduled it yet but it will be the end of this week or next.

I'm so happy we don't have to wait a long time for her to get here, we got approved 6 months ago and we just got contacted by our birthmother the 27th of March. So we really shouldn't complain at all. But I've found that all of my 8 pregnant friends feel is highly unfair I'm getting my baby first, and yes that includes my sis : ). I just have to say thank you to my family and close friends who have been my support the last couple years and have never judged me for my ups and downs with our infertiltiy and adoption. I guess I just have the best family ever and know how to pick great friends! Thanks guys!
