Winter Blues

Arbon always gets a fair amount of snow but it really only has a "good" winter every 4-5 years.  Well this was one of those years and I think everyone is VERY ready for Spring!!  We had two, too cold to go to school days and two snow days because of blizzards.  A couple days driving to school some of us wished they would have canceled ;) and a couple of days luckily it was fine getting to and from school but awful during school! It's really hard to really capture a blizzard or to capture just how MUCH snow there is but here is just a few pictures from our Winter.  I was "lucky" enough this year to get stuck one day coming home from volleyball in a blizzard.  But, I was fortunate enough that I got stuck on the highway and Bill Curry, and Darrel were both able to come help Zach get me out!

This was a very long hard winter!  I found myself getting very down!  But here are things we were grateful for:

  • Larin making sure the school bus could get into our driveway at 6 a.m. and for cleaning out our walkway multiple times with the tractor and creating snow hills for the kids to play on!
  • School bus drivers that braved the yucky roads at 6 a.m. and got our kids to and from school safely everyday.
  • Shawn who also cleaned out the driveway, yard.
  • Snowplow drivers that worked 7 days a week 12+ hours for months this year!
  • Living next to Wyatt, having cousins close makes a long winter, snow and too cold for school days a lot funner!
  • A warm house that feels like a home.

Moose at the school...notice all the snow in the schools "driveway"
This is right our our back door, our own personal "snow hill" ;)
(Created so we could park our cars but an extra bonus ;)

This is on the highway ( don't worry I stopped to take the picture ;)

On the "Too cold days" the kids would, play legos at Jessica's, play the Wii at wither house or play games at our house.  Needless to say, I don't think they minded them at all ;).

FYI Shawn and Larin would clean out in front our storage container almost weekly!
