Sea Quest

We decided to do a quick, last minute get away and invited Grandpa Vance and Grandma JoAnn along for the adventure.  We surprised the girls with a visit to Sea Quest an interactive aquarium.  It was amazing!!!   We were there for 4 hours and honestly the time flew by!  Kabree was in heaven with all of the extra encounters.  She is an adventurer like her Dad and was game for everything.  Keagan loved it as well but she is more like me and a little unsure of getting up close and personal with some of the animals.  I'm so glad we did this, this Mommy needed a family adventure!!!

So Grandpa Vance right when we walked in says "You can touch any animals or fish that are in open tanks or cages."  So Kabree reaches down in and touches one of the fish, then Grandpa says "Well I'm pretty sure that's what they said."  So after double checking yes we could in fact touch any fish or animals that were in open cages or tanks lol.
 The Lizards
This one was a bit hard for me but I did in fact touch one of the lizards myself.  Both girls were pretty excited to touch, hold and feed the lizards.  Kabree was a little more adventurous and intrigued by it but Keagan thought it was pretty neat too!

 Fish Spa
This was the one thing I wanted to do for sure!!!  I was so excited to try this encounter, you put your feet in a tank of Doctor Fish, the are toothless fish that suck the dead skin off of your feet.  It was a bit more torturous (it tickled) than I thought towards the end but it was so fun!  Kabree and I took the first round and then Grandma JoAnn, Grandpa Vance and Zach took the next turn.  Keagan wanted to try it, she took her shoes off and got her foot ready to stick in the water but couldn't do it at the last second :).

Grandpa was teasing Kabree about if the fish would come off

Grandma wasn't sure she liked how it felt
Sea Adventures
Petting the baby sting ray
This bird would wave at you when you waved to him, he was pretty cute

 Octopus

 Frogs
 I loved the neon fish

If  you look really close you can see the sea horse

Feeding and petting the Sting Ray's was actually pretty fun, it was surprising how far out of the water they would come to see if you had food for them.  Plus you can't help but smile when you see their mouths that look like faces.
Playing fish games
Feeding the birds
This was my least favorite part lol, I'm super nervous around birds, like pretty freaked out by birds lol.   In the Parakeet room there was at least 100 birds in there flying around the room and perched at the top.  We got cups of bird seed so they would come to us, poor little Kiki was excited until the birds all started flying and landing on us, then she kind of got nervous and did't want them on her arm or hand.  After the Parakeet room Keagan and I decided we were moving on but Zach and Kabree wanted to try out the Lorikeet room.  There was about 20-25 birds in the Lorikeet room, instead of bird seed they got cups of nectar.  One bird got a bit aggressive with Kabree when she tried to move her cup, it grabbed a hold of her finger with it's beak and made sure her hand stayed put.  Kabree was a champ, she said it hurt but she still had fun.

The Gold Mermaid
Oh my goodness this mermaid made the whole day!!!  She was so fun and amazing!!!  She made a point to talk to and smile at everyone and made an extra effort to make the kids feel special.  Telling them all how beautiful they were, how she loved their shirt, smile or eyes.  You couldn't help but feel happy when she was around.

After our 4 hours of Sea Quest adventures the kids thought it was pretty great to hit the mall food court for a late lunch/early dinner.  They were so excited that we could all get food at different restaurants! We ended our day adventure by going to Wonder Woman!  The girls thought it was pretty good (not exactly a movie I would take my 8 and 5 year old to but it was a pretty good movie).  They thought the reclining chairs were pretty amazing and wish our movie theater had them.
It was a great day and I'm so grateful Zach and my parents were so good about jumping in so last minute!
