4th of July Weekend

As always we attended the 4th of July parade with Heather and her kiddos.  This year we ran into my sister in-law Jeanette and her 3 little kids so she joined us for the parade too!  It was VERY HOT this year and luckily lots of people passed out popsicle and some even passed out power-aids!  Our girls came home with 9 flags and a load of candy, so I would say it was a successful parade!

The girls thought the painted horses were pretty great!

Keagan, Kabree, Hanna, Julia and Noah
After the parade we hurried home to pack and headed out to Island Park for some 4th of July camping with Grandpa Gary and Grandma Sally.  The girls were so excited that's all they had talked about the whole week!
The second we got to Island park and got unloaded the girls ran down to the creek to wade in the water.

The girls wanted to walk across to the other side but
were afraid they would fall in so they recruited Mommy to walk them across

 Grandma Sally and Kabree relazing
Grandpa Gary, Grandma Sally, Zach and the girls all went for a 4 wheeler ride
The girls were very entertained by these reclining chairs
Grandpa Gary and Uncle Brian got laid down and pushed back up to many times to count!

This cute, tiny, little chipmunk fascinated the girls the whole trip
We had a super yummy 4th of July dinner!  Uncle Brian made BBQ ribs and baked beans, Grandma Sally made corn on the cob and a yummy salad and we brought strawberry shortcake for dessert.  After dinner we headed to watch the fireworks down by the water.
The boats waiting for the fireworks to start
I swear at least 10 more boats showed up before the fireworks started

Keagan maybe made it 5 minutes into the fireworks
The fireworks were pretty great!  We were maybe 100 yards (if that) from where they were shooting them off and we were right on the edge of the water.  It was fun and Kabree loved it!  However, we had such a long day that before the fireworks were over Kabree asked us if we could go back to camp to bed.  She was such a trooper and even though she was tired she carried her blanket and walked the mile back to the cars!
Sunday we woke up and visited with Brian and Angela and had a yummy berry pancake breakfast made by Grandma Sally and Grandpa Gary.  The girls loved camping, being with Grandpa and Grandma and visiting with Brian and Angela.  Even though it was a very quick camping trip we are so glad we did it.  The girls loved it!
