National Adoption Awarness Month

Being an adoptive Mother as well as a Family Supporting Adoption CO Chair I am very excited as always for November to come around each year, plus the fact that my birthday is in November :)!
I have to start by saying I LOVE ADOPTION!  It sounds cliche but for any of you who know me closely or for any one else out there who has ever known the heart ache of longing for a child and what an amazing blessing it is that through adoption you can have that great JOY.  Adoption touches so many lives, I cannot tell you how many adoption stories I have heard in the last two years.  It seems like everyone knows someone, is related to or has been touched by adoption themselves.  I love hearing other peoples miracle stories and I love sharing them as well.  To me being touched by adoption means, adoptee, adoptive couples, birthparents and anyone related to the prior, plus to me I hope my friends feel they have been able to gain a new perspective on adoption too!
Here is my CHALLENGE to bring up adoption as many times as you can this month.  It doesn't have to be some profound or miraculous thought.  It's amazing how easy it can be to bring up adoption and see where the conversation goes.  You can bring up that you have a friend or family who has adopted and is currently waiting or oh my friend who adopted has a blog.  For some of you who are more outgoing just flat out bring up its National Adoption Month or ask so you know anyone who has been touched by adoption or post that it's Natinal Adoption Awarness Month on your blogs or face book accounts.
For my last little plug, on November 13th at 9:00 a.m. our local Families Supporting Adoption chapter is having a "Books at Breakfast", it's a pancake breakfast adoption book drive for anyone touched by adoption.  I encourage any of you interested or that can to please join us and help increase adoption awareness by providing a book about adoption to be donated to the local libraries.  Anyone interested leave a comment and I will give you the location.
