Can You Dig It?

Kabree had a great school volleyball season.  She played JV this year, was team captain, played setter and outside hitter.  She had a new coach (Baylee) this year who ended up being great and super positive!  Kabree got lots of new teammates who she ended up loving!  Kabree was super nervous going into the season but ended up loving it and having a great time!  She improved a ton as always and we are super proud of her!  The JV girls bonded so well this year and they played like they were just having fun out there on the court, it was so fun watching them together!  We are so fortunate and Kabree's friend Brylee's Mom, takes pictures.  She did all of our volleyball pictures this year and they all turned out amazing!

Hunting We Will Go

This year was a good year for the Tarbet family to go out deer hunting. This year start off the season with both girls getting opportunities to shoot at 4 points the first couple of days. This was the first year that Kabree got to experience shooting and thinking you are doing everything right but the shot was not connecting. We all know that being out in the field and for whatever reason the shot just doesn't work out on an animal. Then you turn around go to the range and ten ring hit everything. So even with these shooting blues, both girls and I were able to make it happen this year. But prior to our adventures, Jessi was able to watch Whitney's two little ones for the week. Well I decided that cause Heston was here, we needed to go hunting together. So one morning Vance, Cayleb, Heston and I all went out for a morning hunt. During this time we saw a nice 4 point, so I hurried over to the location of the deer and got out to hike around to see where he went. While I was out hiking, Heston looks up to spot a couple of small bucks walking through the trees, so Vance gets out of the rig and is able to shoot one while Heston was there. Heston was so excited, he pretty much ran up the hill to where I was at with the deer. I have forgotten that those sagebrush are super tall to a 5 year old, compared to me walking through them. I think he had a great time hunting with me this year, and to cap it off Vance let him take the antlers home to show off his spotting skills!

On the last Saturday that the girls had open to hunt we set out to look for some bucks. That morning we were not seeing any deer out and about. I spotted some deer bedded down and there was a small buck in there with them. Keagan decided that we the amount of deer we had been seeing that she wanted to shoot that deer. She got all lined up and I started the recording because we were not in any kind of rush. She proceeded to make her shots on the deer and was able to get him down. It was a good confidence boost as she made a couple of great shots.

Later that night Kabree and I headed up to go shoot a deer. I had spotted a 3 point that she decided she wanted to fill her tag on. So I called Kooper to come with us to watch. Kabree, Keagan and I all loaded up in the Yukon and Kooper was right behind us in another rig so he didn't have to wait after we shot. Just as Kabree was getting ready to shoot, I got a call from Kooper whispering that there are some more deer coming over the hill. I quickly looked to the spot he was calling out and sure enough there were three good 4 points coming over the hill with some does. We all quickly bailed out of the rigs to get setup and everyone call out who is shooting at which buck. We all got to pull the trigger and at the end of it all two bucks were down within 10 feet of each other. Kabree and I managed to tag out on a couple of nice bucks that I hadn't seen all season. It was a great experience and was exciting to say the least!

Keagan for Secretary

Keagan decided to run for 7th grade secretary.  She made posters and had to give a speech in front of her whole grade!  She didn't win; her friend Chloe did, so she said it was ok ;).  We are so proud of her for putting herself out there and trying new things!!
