Cheer/Drill Competitions

Rumble In The Jungle

Kabree had her first cheer competition Rumble In The Jungle in Jerome.  Grandma JoAnn went with me since Keagan had a basketball game in Preston so Zach went the other way.  Kabree did great!  They took first in Show and Sideline and second in Pom and first overall!  After the competition we stopped in Twin for a quick bite to eat at Culver's and then a quick stop at the mall to look for some pants.  It was a great day spent with great company!

Battle At The Border

Zach and Keagan were able to make it to Kabree's first drill competition in Preston, Battle At The Border.  This was all of our first drill competition and it was way different then a cheer competition but still fun.  Kabree is filling in because one of the girls got injured so they asked Kabree if she could help them out with the hip hop routine.  So it was kind of a long day for just one routine but the AF girls did great.  They took 2nd all the way around, all routines and overall!  They were a little disappointed but coach Erin reminded them that 2nd is great considering the competition was tough!  After the competition we headed to Logan to go dress shopping for Kabree's Valentine's dance and some Chick-fil-A.

Upper Valley Cheer Competition.

Grandma JoAnn once again joined me for another cheer competition, this time we headed to Rexburg for the Upper Valley Cheer Competition.  Zach and Keagan were in Preston for Keagan's last basketball tournament in Preston.  But they did hustle up to Rexburg after her last game and got to catch part of the competition!  This was our first time attending this competition and it was a pretty big one!  AF did great and really brought their A game, they won 1st in Pom, 2nd in Show and 3rd in Sideline.  They were a little disappointed with their rankings but they got 2nd to last years state champs and got 3rd in sideline even though they fell in one of their stunts so just a reminder that they are still killing it and can still bring it next week at districts!!!  Zach did enter in the Dad jump off, he was pretty amazing but did place...he did have the best cheering section with all the AF cheerleaders supporting him ;)!!!  After the competition we headed to Idaho Falls for a yummy dinner at Johnny Carino's!

Slam Dunk

Keagan had a great club basketball season.  This year Zach coached the girls and they decided to try out the Preston league.  They got to play two games every Saturday and grew a ton!  Keagan loves her basketball friends and we are so grateful for the girls and their parents!  James and Christie Evans let Keagan go to their house every Tuesday and Thursday after school until practice so she didn't have to ride the bus home and then turn around and go back into American Falls.  Bethany's Dad, Shane, lined up gym times and got the team jerseys.  Zach's friend Jerry made warmup shirts for all the girls and gave them all AF water bottle stickers (lol the things 7th grade girls love haha).

I was so bummed that Kab's had a couple cheer competitions the same Saturday's so I didn't get to go to all of the games but it was so fun to watch the ones I did get to go to and I did get to see the one Keagan made a 3 pointer at one game right at the buzzer ;)!

Christmas Break

I love Christmas break!  Two weeks of minimal practices and games, sleeping in, lots of family time, movies, good food and lots of games (even a very interesting game of try the mixed drinks lol)!  We visited Grandpa Gary and Grandma Sally.  There was enough snow the girls got to go snowmobiling once with Zach and once just them and Wyatt.  Unfortunately Grandpa Vance and Libby ended up in the hospital again, so we went and visited both of them.  Keagan kicked off her club basketball season and Kabree and I were able to go watch!
