All the kids that were out wrote Grandpa a note on the giant b-day card

Zach is on spring break from school so he decided it was a good time to work out on the farm and for me to spend sometime with family : ), I know I never see them.  Friday we were running around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to finish up all the paperwork and getting the baby stuff all cleaned and set up.  Saturday we headed out to Arbon.  Zach went right to work and Katie was nice enough to babysit for me so Jessica and I could do a 4 mile walk.  We have 5 months to get ready for our dirty dash so we decided we better start walking it now so we can run it by August.  It was perfect weather for a walk and it was nice to visit.  After we got back it was a day of just hanging out.  Kabree got lots of books read to her by Mattie and lots of horse rides from Makenna.  Her and Wyatt just loved snuggling and running and playing with Ebony and .... well you get the point, they are both busy.  Larin took them for a 4-wheeler ride later in the afternoon and they both had huge grins but when he would stop for me to take a pic they would frown because they wanted to keep going.  Sunday we all went to church together and had a nice Sunday dinner to celebrate Dad's birthday.  Mom and Heather are spending spring break on the heritage tour so we got to talk to them for a quick minute.  Then of course we had to let Dad blow out the candles and enjoy some jell-o cake and ice cream.  It was a great weekend and Kabree loved every minute with her cousins.  She cried when we went home because as she says "I just needed to stay here and essica's house with Wyatt" : ), she is very much in love with Jessica right now : ).

We're Staying A Pink House

H went to the Doctor today for an ultra sound and quick check up, I was lucky enough that she invited me to tag along.  It was such a great experience to get to talk with H more as well as see the little kiddo squirming around.  We were lucky enough that the little one rolled around and showed us what to expect...a little Girl!  Little Vanilla Bean (nickname stolen from H & J) has dropped and is head down, H is dilated to a 1 so it could be a while or it could be any day...we will keep you posted.

Ethan and Kabree playing on Grandpa's phone

We had a great weekend with family.  Mattie got baptized on Saturday.  She is such a sweet, beautiful girl and we are so proud of her.  It was great to see all the family and everyone that loves Mattie.  After her baptism we hung out for a bit and then later that night those that were still in Arbon got invited for cake and ice cream.  Kabree was so excited, she cannot wait for her birthday and won't stop talking about it.  So when it came time to light the candles Kabree got very excited and blew them out!  Larin hurried and lite them backup so that the correct birthday girl could blow them out.  Friday night Ethan, Shay and I helped Dad clean the basement before everyone came for Saturday so while we were cleaning away I told Shay she needed to cook dinner.  She felt very picked on and dragged her feet a bit, but int he end she thought it was kind of fun and she did a great job!

It's A Baby ??????

That's right we don't know yet.  We are over the moon excited to be getting another little baby in our family!  We were contacted by our caseworker on Monday about a possible situation and then Wednesday we got to meet face to face with H and J.  It went great, they both seem like great people, and we really enjoyed our visit with them.  Then later Wednesday night H e-mailed me to tell us she would like to pick us as their adoptive couple.  We of coarse were so excited we were going crazy.  We cannot wait to get to know them better and of coarse we cannot wait for our new addition to arrive.  One catch, the little one doesn't want us to know what it is yet, so stay tuned the next few weeks to find out if we are thinking pink or blue.

Kabree's First Hair Cut

Kabree and Ashlie

She asked Ashlie if she could help curl her hair
I brought the DVD player for Justice but Zach watched it instead

Our pretty little Miss Kabree
Miss Kabree Lee got her first hair cut this past week from my friend Ashlie.  She loves Ashlie and always loves going to see her when Daddy and Mommy get their hair cut.  Kabree wasn't a hundred percent sure what she thought about her getting her's done though.  When Ashlie washed it Kabree had the oddest expression on her face, we were laughing the whole time, she really didn't know what to think about getting her hair washed, she didn't hate it but she didn't like it either.  When it came time to cut her hair Kabree liked looking at herself in the mirror and pulling faces at herself.  When Ashlie started fixing it she told Kabree I'm going to do your hair like a princess and Kabree very seriously says 'I'm not a princess I'm Belle", she is so into Belle from Beauty and The Beast right now.  She loved how cute her hair looked when she was all done and I must admit I thought she was pretty stinking cute myself!

Baby Cows

 Kabree and Daddy
 Larin getting a calf
We got to see a brand new baby
 Petting one of the babies
Kabree helping Larin feed the Mommy cow
Kabree showing Larin how she drives her 4-wheeler

Kabree has been asking over and over to go see the cows, yes this is the child that last year was terrified beyond belief of cows.  Well Larin invited us to ride with him to go check the cows Saturday so we tagged along.  Kabree was very excited pulling into the pasture and driving around pointing to all the cows 'look there's a baby one...look there's a cow!"  Larin pulled up to a baby one and jumped out and grabbed it for Kabree to pet, she was hesitant but considering it until it moo'd then she came unglued!  "I don't want to pet it" as she climbed over top of me to get to the other side of the truck.  So, Larin jumped back in and off we went to finish checking.  We found a brand new baby that had just been born after a lot of coaxing Zach convinced Kabree to get out of the truck but only if he held her and she didn't have to pet it.  Then we headed to the barn to check on a baby who had just been grafted over to a new cow.  Kabree already was hesitant, but very curious.  She liked looking at it close but having the fence between them.  Larin pulled the calf out for her to pet to which she said "ooohhhh it's adorable", seriously where does she get it anyways she was pretty worried but pet the baby and thought it was pretty neat, but just for a minute then she told Larin "I'm done, put it back, I'm good".  Then she discovered that the 4-wheeler was in another stall and had to check it out.  I think maybe our crippling fear of cows might be getting better...I guess only time will tell, we will see come May and branding time.

Arbon Fun

JoAnn, Ethan and Kabree playing Kinect

 JoAnn and Kabree sword fighting
 Vance and Kabree sword fighting

 Vance spinning Kabree
 Kabree's turn to spin Grandpa
Kabree loves dancing with Grandpa Vance

Kabree told me today "I want to go home" I said "We are home" Kabree "My other home, my Grandpa home".  We go out to Arbon A LOT lately for Zach to work and Kabree loves her Grandpa and Grandma time plus all of her cousins and her aunts and uncles to see and play with.  As you can see it's always exciting in Arbon.  My mom got play swords which Kabree had a sword fight with anyone willing the whole weekend.  Shawn and his kids got the XBox Kinect game system and so everyone had to try it out a little.  But Kabree even loves going and visiting Grandpa in the shop, just to visit and sometimes to get a quick spin in the chair : ), this round she wanted Grandpa to have a ride too.  Kabree is very much a Grandpa's girl and loves spending time with him, and I think he likes spending time with her too.  He is always willing to dance like a princess with her, be her horse, a giant or just about anything else her imagination comes up with.
My Dad once told me that Kabree is extra special because he knows she was meant to be in our family and meant to be his granddaughter.  I couldn't have said it better and always tell Kabree she is special and extra loved because God knew I wanted her so much that even though all the odds were against us He brought her to me to be my Kabree.  I'm so grateful for her and the joy she has brought to my life and I'm so grateful for my family loving her and always making our visits fun.
