Kabree 2yr Photos

My friend Ad took Kabree's 2 year pictures last Friday on Kabree's birthday, it was pretty cold and Kabree was not in the best picture mood.  But I think they still turned out pretty dang cute and I cannot believe how big she looks, my little Miss Kabree is not so little anymore.

Kabree's 2nd Birthday Party

Zach, Kabree & Jessi
Kabree LOVED the Backyardigans on her cake!

I know there is a lot of pictures of the cake but I'm just so excited of how it turned out, my Mom did such a good job on the characters that my part was so easy and Kabree loved it.  I had told my Mom I wanted to do a Backyardigans cake but didn't no what I should do and she said she thought maybe she could try making them out of clay so I could just stick them on, well as you can see they turned out far better then I ever could have imagined.  I tried for the first time doing a raspberry filled cake, I was a little nervous it would slide but it turned out great and didn't taste too bad either : )!  I have to say I love the new vibrant food coloring it made the frosting on the cupcakes so fun and I'm glad I made the two sizes, the mini's were perfect for the little ones.

I felt kind of bad because as soon as we got to the park Kabree just wanted to play and run around.  This was the first time to the park this year so Kabree just wanted to have fun on the slide.  She had a hard time wanting to come back over and open gifts and do cake.  We decided to let the other kids help her open gifts to keep it moving.  I think Kabree was a little overwhelmed with all the people and excitement of the park.  Everyone was really great about it though.  She got way too much and was very spoiled by everyone!

I think the kids really liked the cupcakes and I made tons so there was plenty for them to have a few each. Justice I think ate like 10 all by himself, he would look around to see if Heather was looking, then go up and grab another one.  It was pretty cute and on his behalf they were the mini ones.

We had such a good time at Kabree's birthday party and are so glad so many people got to come.  We think she is one very special little girl and is loved by so many people.  Some of Kabree's birth family was able to come and celebrate with us and we are so grateful for all of them for coming and sharing her special day with us.  I wish I would be better about taking pictures of everyone.  We love them so much especially Keri and Spencer if it wasn't for them we would not even have our Little Miss Kabree and her birthday is such a bittersweet reminder of the day she was born and the day Keri and Spencer placed her in our arms.

Since we were celebrating Kabree's birthday on Saturday and not on Friday, her actually birthday we did a few of Kabree's favorite things.  She got to watch her new movie Tangled while laying on Daddy and Mommy's bed eating her favorite breakfast of cereal and chocolate milk.  Kabree got to open one of her gifts from her Daddy and Mommy.  She was so funny, she walked right up to and just started tearing the paper off and looking at the box smiling, it took her a minute to realize it was a kitchen set.  She was very excited until we opened it and realized there was a LOT MORE assembly required then we had anticipated.  It was very hard to be patient while Daddy and Mommy put it together.  We then got all pretty and headed to meet Ad for our 2 year photos.  For lunch we met aunt Sissy (Heather) at Puerto Vallarta, Kabree loves Mexican food, she would live off of rice and beans if we would let her.  Then we headed home for a quick nap and an episode of Backyardigans (her favorite show).  Then we got to eat a couple cupcakes and play in the tub.

Kabree has really started to like doing little crafts, which I love!  It is so much fun, we try to do  one crafty thing a day, some days it's just coloring, or play dough but some days we get more creative.  Kabree get's really excited when I ask her if we should do a craft, she will start dancing around and yelling, "craft, craft" or "color, color" : )!  Monday night Zach and I decide to introduce Kabree to play dough for the first time.  She thought it was pretty neat, she kept saying "Mommy, wow, wow, Daddy look".  Zach and I both lack a little in the artistic abilities but Kabree did know that what I was making was a horse : ).  She thought it was  pretty great until she started playing with it and it started falling apart, she would look at us all upset and cry "horsey, look, horsey".  It took me 10 minutes to make it and her 10 seconds to demolish it.

Zach and I had to laugh because my Mom made these super amazing, awesome clay Backyardigans characters for Kabree's birthday cake so we thought we would test our abilities with clay.  Well...lets just say I did not inherit my Mother's artistic abilities : ), good thing I have her.  I cannot wait for Kabree's birthday Friday for her cake and to see how excited she is for her presents we got her!!!!!  We also invited her birthfamily and they said they would come, so Kabree will get to have both sets of her Grandparents and her Birth-grandparents at her birthday party!  Of course Keri and Spencer will be there so we are excited to have all of the special people in little Miss Kabree's life  finally meet each other.
